I’ve always wanted to open a healing arts center. Even before I was a counselor, I wanted to bring an assortment of holistic practitioners together to offer a wide variety of healing opportunities. Several years ago I started a virtual healing center, Colorado Holistic Healing, an online referral source. In the summer of 2014, I finally got my chance to create a physical healing arts center in a wing of the Lutheran church I attended.
The Healing Arts Center was dedicated on October 19th, 2014. The vision for the center came as a result of a summer of discernment by the members of St. Andrew, the cleaning out of old classrooms, and a simple conversation over lunch. What has transpired since then has been remarkable.
Three rooms and the hall were cleaned out and freshened with new paint, furniture, pictures and other decorations. We started with two offices and a waiting room. I moved my office there from another location and we also welcomed a massage therapist. A few months later, we held our first Healing Arts Fair with a wonderful turnout! Since then we have had many requests to use our space for ongoing groups, classes, lectures, and workshops.
We have expanded several times since the opening of the healing arts center and now have seven offices and more than a dozen practitioners who use the space on a regular basis. We have offered numerous healing arts fairs, open houses and a wide variety of workshops. I’m honored to be a part of such a wonderful endeavor and vision as we move forward.
